Roosevelt is 1-9 against Allen Park since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Bears will face off against the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Roosevelt nor Edsel Ford made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Bears narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Thunderbirds 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Jack Halberstadt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on zero hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Roosevelt secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Zack Hoffman, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double was Hoffman's first of the season. Another was Connor Bedo, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Allen Park waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Wildcats.
The team relied heavily on Reece Phillips, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Jack Labiak was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-8. As for Allen Park, their record is now 6-1-1.
Roosevelt's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Bears have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.2 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Allen Park, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Roosevelt continue to outrun the ball?
Roosevelt couldn't quite finish off Allen Park in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
