It was a good run, but the A&M Consolidated Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 72-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Creek. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lake Creek's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aedan Lewis, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cody Puckett, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
A&M Consolidated's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-12. As for Lake Creek, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.
A&M Consolidated will head out on the road to take on the Bears at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 656th, while the Tigers are ranked 307th). As for Lake Creek, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rangers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rudder is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
