Even though Winchester Thurston scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, the Bishop Canevin Crusaders still came out on top. Bishop Canevin enjoyed a cozy 76-59 win over Winchester Thurston. With that victory, Bishop Canevin brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.
It was another big night for Jason Cross Jr, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Drew Allen, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Bishop Canevin's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-5. As for Winchester Thurston, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Canevin will take on Neighborhood Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Neighborhood Academy will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Winchester Thurston, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Westinghouse at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
