Basketball Recap: Dorman Skates Past Boiling Springs with Ease

Dorman entered their tilt with Boiling Springs on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Boiling Springs Bulldogs 75-43. With the Cavaliers ahead 34-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dorman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan White, who went 9 for 13 on her way to 22 points and six boards. The contest was White's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rihanna Wallace, who went 7 of 8 en route to 16 points in addition to seven assists and six rebounds.

Dorman was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Boiling Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Makenzie Kinard posted 22 points and four steals. That was a full 51.2% of Boiling Springs' points, marking the eighth time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Akerah Morris was another key player, putting up three points and three blocks.

Dorman is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Boiling Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.

Dorman is taking a road trip to challenge Riverside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season. As for Boiling Springs, they will be playing at home against Spartanburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spartanburg also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 50.8 points per game.
