The Walters Blue Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Big Pasture Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Walters was handed a 12-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over Velma-Alma. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

GAGE SANSOME made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. What's more, he gave up only three walks, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Walters let CASH THOMAS and CREED SHORTT run wild. THOMAS scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while SHORTT scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. What's more, THOMAS posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was MAVERICK COOKE, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Big Pasture took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They blew past Geronimo 12-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Rangers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season.
LAWSON McCULLOUGH was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). McCULLOUGH was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, LANE TINSLEY was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. LAYNE DAVIDSON was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.
Walters now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Big Pasture, their record is now 1-0.
Walters took their victory against Big Pasture in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1. Will Walters repeat their success, or does Big Pasture have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
