Richland took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against the Newburg Wolves as Richland made off with an 18-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

Braden York looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Richland let London Smith and Mason Alexander run wild. Smith got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI, while Alexander got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gabe Gibson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Coming up, Richland will venture away from home to challenge Eldon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Newburg, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Plato at 5:00 p.m. on April 1.
