After flying high against Pine Forge Academy  last Tuesday, Mesivta came back down to earth. The Mesivta Mustangs were  outmatched by the Liguori Academy Falcons and fell  77-44. The Mustangs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

 When it comes to explaining why Mesivta lost on Wednesday, don't look at  Nathanel Bitas. Despite the final result, he  posted 14  points. Those 14 points gave  Bitas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eli Friedman, who  had six  points.
 Liguori Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Amir Washington, who  went 9 of 18  on his way to 22 points. With that strong performance,  Washington is now averaging an impressive 15.1  points per game. Another player making a difference was  Rydee Miller, who  went 7 of 10  en route to 16  points.
Mesivta's loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 5-2. As for Liguori Academy,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 4-5.
 Mesivta will get a bit of extra time to process the  defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Barrack Hebrew Academy at 2:30  p.m.  on December 30th. As for Liguori Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  game,  a  77-34  loss against Life Center Academy on the 19th.
