Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Charlotte Catholic). The stars were shining brightly for them in a 69-51 victory over the Providence Panthers on Tuesday. The Cougars pushed the score to 59-39 by the end of the third, a deficit the Panthers cut but never quite recovered from.

Charlotte Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Megan Shea out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Shea has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evi Hoefling, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Providence lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Julia Skinner, who put up ten points and three steals. Emma Fuller was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Charlotte Catholic's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-6. As for Providence, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Charlotte Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-16 win against Independence on the 20th. As for Providence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-30 loss against Butler on the 20th.
