The Pleasant Home Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Elba 64-14. Pleasant Home has struggled against Elba recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Alvin Henderson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 176 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. Henderson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for nine straight games. Cassidy Carpenter also helped out as he racked up 122 rushing yards.
Pleasant Home's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. As for Elba, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Pleasant Home will head out on the road to face off against Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgiana presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Pleasant Home in Alabama (Georgiana is ranked 167th, while Pleasant Home is ranked 402nd). As for Elba, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McKenzie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. McKenzie knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Elba likes a good challenge.
