The Campbell Indians will square off against the Celeste Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Campbell has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Celeste will arrive with seven straight wins.
Campbell fell victim to Saltillo and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 11-0 to the Lions.
Campbell saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, while Celeste put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Cooper. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 9-0 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won nine matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jada Garcia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Harper Brown was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jenna Jayroe, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
Celeste kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Campbell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Celeste, their win bumped their record up to 14-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Campbell has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Celeste struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Campbell might still be hurting after the 26-0 loss they got from Celeste in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
