The Martins Ferry Purple Riders will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Buckeye Trail Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Martins Ferry has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six games.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Martins Ferry ultimately got the result they hoped for last Wednesday. They snuck past Harrison Central with a 66-62 win. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Buckeye Trail was the victim of a rough 58-33 loss at the hands of Union Local on Tuesday. Buckeye Trail has not had much luck with Union Local recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Martins Ferry has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Buckeye Trail, their loss dropped their record down to 13-3.
Martins Ferry couldn't quite finish off Buckeye Trail in their previous meeting back in January and fell 62-60. Can Martins Ferry avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
