After a string of five wins, Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Shenandoah Valley Academy on the road and fell 77-35. While losing is never fun, Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 470th in Georgia, while Shenandoah Valley Academy is ranked 173rd in Virginia).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shenandoah Valley Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Avery Browne, who scored 19 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Pelote, who scored nine points along with ten assists and five rebounds.
Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Shenandoah Valley Academy, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Holy Spirit Prep. Shenandoah Valley Academy will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Georgia-Cumberland Academy at 10:15 p.m. on January 13th. Georgia-Cumberland Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
