The Lakeshore fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Pearl River 41-6 at home. The result was nothing new for Lakeshore, who have now won three matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Lakeshore found their leader in underclassman Oudrey Gros, who rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Beau Bernard, who rushed for 12 yards and two touchdowns.
Lakeshore's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 3-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-7 Washington-Marion and 3-6 Loranger (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.1% over those games). As for Pearl River, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeshore will take on Archbishop Hannan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Hannan comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Pearl River is on the road again on Friday and play against Salmen at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Salmen will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
