Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Marriotts Ridge turned things around against Atholton on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 12-6 win. The high-scoring effort was just what Marriotts Ridge needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Sienna Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Mackenzie Tasch was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leah Kim, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Marriotts Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Meanwhile, Hammond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 18-6 to Atholton.

Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Marriotts Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

Marriotts Ridge took their win against Hammond when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 20-0 score. Does Marriotts Ridge have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hammond turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
