The Wilmington Hurricane lost against the Washington Blue Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Wilmington took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Washington. While losing is never fun, Wilmington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 539th, while Washington is ranked 104th).
Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaiah Haithcock, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was John Wall, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Wilmington's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Washington, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Wilmington will be home for the holidays to greet Carroll at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Carroll is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Washington, they will head out on the road to face off against Miami Trace at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Miami Trace knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Washington likes a good challenge.
