Baseball Recap: Alcoa Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Alcoa has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.41 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the Roane County Yellowjackets, falling 14-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tornadoes have suffered since May 22, 2024.

Shawn Collins and Bleau Kennedy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Collins went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, while Kennedy scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Kennedy has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Aden Orrick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Alcoa's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4. As for Roane County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alcoa will challenge Eagleton College & Career Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Roane County, they will venture away from home to challenge McMinn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
