It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Autaugaville Eagles had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 63-47 victory over the Lions. The win was some much needed relief for Autaugaville as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
When it comes to explaining why Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Iyanis Wallace. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaderrick Robinson, who scored 11 points.
Autaugaville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Central, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which is still a better percentage than their 5-16 record this season.
Autaugaville will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Calhoun at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. The timing is sure in Calhoun's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while Autaugaville has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
