After flying high against Drummond  last Saturday, Jefferson came back down to earth. The Jefferson Panthers fell just short of the Three Forks Wolves by a score of  73-70 on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game  last Saturday (68), the Panthers still had to take the loss.
 Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Wyatt Geier, who  went 6 of 13  en route to 16  points and seven  rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tyler Frydenlund, who  dropped  a double-double on 16 points and 12  rebounds.
Jefferson's defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 2-1. As for Three Forks, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when  the Jefferson Panthers  challenge   the Manhattan Tigers at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Three Forks, they will head out to  square off against Ennis  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. One thing working in Three Forks' favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  every time they've taken the court this season.
