Park City is 0-6 against Murray since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The Park City Miners will head out on the road to take on the Murray Spartans at 3:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Park City not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 11, 2024. They were the clear victor by a 16-8 margin over American Leadership Academy. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Miners' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Madeline Reddy was a standout: she went 3-for-6 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Erica Levy, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Park City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as American Leadership Academy only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Murray gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. Everything went their way against Jordan as Murray made off with a 17-2 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Beetdiggers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Murray got a massive performance out of Lyndee Marshall, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Zaylee Winterhalder was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
Park City's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Murray, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Park City suffered a grim 21-6 defeat to Murray in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Park City avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
