Meanwhile, there's no place like home for ALA - Ironwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with an 18-13 win over San Tan Foothills on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Warriors needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Ethan Garcia was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Garcia was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, ALA - Ironwood got a massive performance out of Gio Martinez, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that Martinez snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Owen Burns, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three RBI and one double.
ALA - Ironwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Seton Catholic's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for ALA - Ironwood, they moved to 2-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.
