The Arickaree Bison will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denver Waldorf Spartans at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
After a string of four wins, Arickaree's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They fell 72-64 to Idalia.
Despite their defeat, Arickaree saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. AUSTIN WRIGHT, who scored 18 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. WRIGHT hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. JAKE KING was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Meanwhile, Denver Waldorf beat the Cougars 66-58 on Tuesday.
Henry Lottridge and Cayden Quinn were among the main playmakers for Denver Waldorf as the former scored 22 points along with six steals and five rebounds and the latter scored 30 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Quinn has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Parker Vullings, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Arickaree's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for Denver Waldorf, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Everything came up roses for Arickaree against the Spartans when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 65-30 win. Will Arickaree repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
