In what's become a running theme this season, The Nueva School Mavericks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Design Tech 68-42. That result was just more of the same for these two, as The Nueva School also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Gabe Ciechanover was his usual excellent self, scoring 31 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Liu, who scored eight points.
When it comes to explaining why Design Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bassam (Sam) Karadshe. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Karadshe has scored all season.
The Nueva School pushed their record up to 13-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.7 points. As for Design Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-13.
The Nueva School will look to defend their home court on Monday against Summit Shasta at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Summit Shasta's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matchups. As for Design Tech, they and Summit Preparatory will face off at 7:20 p.m. on January 31st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Summit Preparatory has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-4 during that stretch of close contests.
