EUREKA, Calif. -
St. Bernard's (Eureka, Calif.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 35-16 victory over
South Fork (Miranda, Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by
Chandler Wilson in the first quarter, the Crusaders were up 35-6 at the half.
St. Bernard's came into the game allowing 11.4 points per game. The 16 points that the Cubs ended with were right around their average of 16.6 coming into the game.
A 40-6 St. Bernard's victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for South Fork, which notched a 26-14 victory over Hoopa Valley in its previous outing. The loss broke South Fork's two-game winning streak.
St. Bernard's (5-1) goes up against Hoopa Valley in a Humboldt-Del Norte - Little 4 game matchup next week, while South Fork (3-3) locks horns with Ferndale also in a Humboldt-Del Norte - Little 4 game.
