The Clark Chargers will square off against the Doral Academy Red Rock Dragons at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Clark is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Clark didn't have quite enough to beat Foothill and fell 6-5. The Chargers have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Clark saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hudson Fraidenburg, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Another was Drew Hernandez, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, Doral Academy Red Rock made easy work of Pinecrest Academy Cadence on Friday and carried off a 17-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dragons.
Cooper Margolis looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Sebastian Zaman was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases while going 2-for-2. That's the most home runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kymani Mika-Togiola, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Doral Academy Red Rock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Clark's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Doral Academy Red Rock, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-10-1.
Everything went Clark's way against Doral Academy Red Rock when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Clark made off with a 15-5 win. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
