Moore Haven and Clewiston are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but likely not for long. The Moore Haven Terriers will host the Clewiston Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Moore Haven's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Clewiston has been banged up by 13 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Moore Haven had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Glades Day on Tuesday. Moore Haven never let Glades Day get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. That looming 12-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Terriers yet this season.

Charisma Micco was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 3-for-3. Those stolen bases were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Sergent was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Desroche, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4.
Moore Haven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glades Day only posted a batting average of .158.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clewiston's offense. They came up short against LaBelle on Tuesday, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Moore Haven's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Clewiston, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Clewiston's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Moore Haven has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.8 hits per game. It's a different story for Clewiston, though, as they've been averaging 9.3 hits. Given Moore Haven's sizable advantage in that area, Clewiston will need to find a way to close that gap.
Moore Haven couldn't quite get it done against Clewiston in their previous meeting back in April of 2022 as they fell 3-0. Can Moore Haven avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
