The Mosley Dolphins will challenge the Niceville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Mosley: 4, Niceville: 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Niceville will be up against a hot Mosley team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Mosley was the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Marianna on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Dolphins have won by exactly ten runs.
Chase Wood looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low.
At the plate, Jack Massey was incredible, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Peyton Williams was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
Mosley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Niceville won against Gulf Breeze on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Niceville skirted past Crestview 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.
Hunter Tarchalski made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Tarchalski was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other pitching news, Brady Martin looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched.
Tarchalski wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Yahir Burgos, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.
Mosley pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs over those games. As for Niceville, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.
Mosley might still be hurting after the 10-1 loss they got from Niceville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Mosley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
