Valley Falls can attribute much of their success to Trenten VanHoutan, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds, and Collin Kearney, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. Kearney's morning made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Flint Seymour, who posted eight points and six boards.
Meanwhile, Perry-Lecompton beat Rossville 59-49 on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Kaws' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 96th).
