Trumann has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Blytheville Chickasaws at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Trumann was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 14-8 to Pocahontas.
Trumann's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jake Osment, who rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown, and Cade Hatton who rushed for 143 yards on only 15 carries.
Meanwhile, Blytheville had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 32-8 margin over Gosnell. 32 seems to be a good number for Blytheville as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Blytheville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Courtney Rogers out in front who rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Blytheville also got a significant boost from Jontavious Johnson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.
Blytheville's victory bumped their season record to 5-2 while Trumann's loss dropped theirs to 4-3.
Trumann strolled past Blytheville when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 31-15. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trumann since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
