After both having extra time off, the Cary Christian Knights and the Cary Academy Chargers will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th. Cary Christian will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Last Thursday, Cary Christian narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Calvary Day School 50-48. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Cary Christian has scored all year.
Andrew Neal continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Cary Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gideon Landry, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cary Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They walked away with a 73-63 victory over Charlotte Country Day School. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Cary Christian pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cary Academy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Cary Christian might still be hurting after the 66-46 defeat they got from Cary Academy in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Cary Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
