Sabre Bragg was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Aviles, who got two hits.
Simon Gratz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .774. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .714 or higher in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bodine). They were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over Saul on Monday. The victory was just business as usual for Bodine, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.
Thomas Becker was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Culpepper, who went 4-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Simon Gratz pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bodine, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Simon Gratz has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .796. However, it's not like Bodine struggles in that department as they've averaged .742. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
