On Tuesday, the Alexander Cougars's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 58-45 victory over East Paulding. Given Alexander's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while East Paulding is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Braedan Lue was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. The match was his 16th in a row with at least ten points. Jermaine Freeman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with three steals.
Alexander's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for East Paulding, they now have a losing record at 7-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alexander will take on Langston Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Paulding, they will be playing at home against Douglas County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
