OAKLEY, Calif. -
Freedom (Oakley, Calif.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used seven fourth quarter points to seal the 30-6 victory over
Liberty (Brentwood, Calif.).
After taking the lead on a field goal in the second quarter, the Falcons led 10-0 at the half.
Freedom expanded its lead to 17 points entering the fourth quarter. FHS scored two times in the third, including once on a passing touchdown.
Liberty's only touchdown came on an 8-yard pass from
Joseph Tolentino to
Ivan Oseguera in the third quarter.
The Oakley school has struggled this season, allowing 30.3 points per game. However, Freedom's defense dug in and limited the Lions well below their season average of 27.1 points per game.
Freedom also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 41-0.
The loss comes after Liberty defeated Heritage 14-7 last week.
