Can't Touch This
Thurston's 61 - 0 win over Willamette last week had a lot to do with the leadership of junior Wesley Kommer. Kommer earned four touchdowns and 262 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Kommer one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
This Week's Big Showdown
The confrontation between Jesuit (4th in the power rankings) and Sheldon (6th) did not disappoint. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jesuit beat Sheldon 36 - 32. The win raised Jesuit up two spots in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
Amity has been an offensive powerhouse for six straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. It picked up a decisive 'W' against Willamina, finishing up at 50 - 14. One star in particular for Amity was senior West Streeter, who rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns. Amity's success was rewarded with a 12-spot boost in the power rankings, the biggest improvement of any team.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Tualatin (5th in the power rankings) and West Linn (8th). Tualatin is backed by a win while West Linn is motivated by a recent defeat. We'll see if Tualatin can add another positive mark to its record or if West Linn can shake off its loss and take the spring out of Tualatin's step.
