Make it five blowout wins for the John Paul the Great Academy Guardians this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat First Baptist Christian 48-18 at home. The victory was just what John Paul the Great Academy needed coming off of a 46-26 loss in their prior matchup.
John Paul the Great Academy was led to victory by Ezra Moutin and Bobby Odinet. Moutin scored 15 points along with five steals, while Odinet scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Evan Sonnier, who scored six points along with six steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eli Meylian, who scored seven points. Panch Giron was another key contributor, scoring six points.
John Paul the Great Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for First Baptist Christian, they dropped their record down to 10-6 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
