Nelsonville-York gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Trimble Tomcats by a score of 21-14. Another reason for the win was Nelsonville-York's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Trimble's QB won't forget Ryder Huddy-Dawley anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Huddy-Dawley also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks and making eight total tackles (3.0 for loss). Caeleb Layton was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Although Trimble took the loss, they still got scores from Luke Orsborne and Brady Jajczyk.
Nelsonville-York will take on Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trimble, they will challenge Berne Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
