Basketball Recap: Frontier International Academy Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Frontier International Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They claimed a resounding 69-37 victory over Oakland International Academy. Given Frontier International Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Oakland International Academy is ranked 665th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Frontier International Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shihab Aljahmi, who posted 23 points. Those 23 points gave Aljahmi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ibrahim Muhammed, who had six points in addition to 12 assists and six steals.

Frontier International Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 27 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in seven consecutive contests.

Frontier International Academy pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Oakland International Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Frontier International Academy will head out to take on Michigan Math & Science at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Michigan Math & Science will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Frontier International Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Oakland International Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
