The Loachapoka Indians managed to keep up with the Lanett Panthers until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Loachapoka's rough 61-41 defeat to Lanett might stick with them for a while. Loachapoka was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Lanett apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mitchell Chenier jr, who scored 9 points along with 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jordan Tyner, who scored 10 points along with 4 blocks.
This is the second loss in a row for Loachapoka and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Lanett, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loachapoka is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Beulah at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (Beulah is ranked 327th, while Loachapoka is ranked 321st). As for Lanett, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbus at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Columbus is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
