Despite the loss, Scotland saw an underclassman step up: Shyland Harrell scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Dylan Lampley was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though Hoke County has not done well against Pinecrest recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Hoke County snuck past Pinecrest with a 54-50 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hoke County.
Jaylen Sturdivant was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon O.d mckoy, who scored ten points.
Scotland's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Hoke County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Scotland have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 38.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Hoke County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.9 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
