The Highland Park Scots will head out on the road to face off against the Southeast Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Highland Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Highland Park had to kick off their season on the road, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Bonner Springs by a score of 52-41.
Highland Park can attribute much of their success to Amelia Ramsey, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 23 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tahtionna Broils , who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was close, but last Monday Southeast sidestepped East for a 24-22 win.
Highland Park's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Southeast, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-0.
Everything came up roses for Highland Park against Southeast in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 68-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Highland Park since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
