If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Shelby. On Friday they take on Chase at 7:30 PM. The two teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous games.
Shelby took their contest against Mount Pleasant last Friday by a conclusive 35-14 score. Junior Isaiah Bess was the offensive standout of the match for Shelby, as he passed for 284 yards and 3 touchdowns. Bess has now scored at least one touchdown in the past 6 games.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout in their match two weeks ago against Brevard, Chase were happy to find some success. Chase had enough points to win and then some against Avery County, taking their match 34-19.
Shelby were fully in charge the last time the two teams met, breezing past Chase 63-0. Will Shelby repeat their success, or does Chase have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
