The North Shore Mustangs fought the good fight in their overtime game against the King Panthers on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 60-58. While losing is never fun, North Shore can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while King is ranked 44th).
North Shore lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Teddious Mayes, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Terrence ?Tj? Alford, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
North Shore are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-14. As for King, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-7.
North Shore will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Summer Creek at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Summer Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for King, they will head out on the road to take on Kingwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
