The West Springfield Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Robinson Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Springfield is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
West Springfield will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Lake Braddock on Friday. The Spartans blew past the Bruins 10-4. Considering the Spartans have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Andrea Yagui spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Natalie Coughlin was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. Alexa Harvey also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
West Springfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Braddock only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, Robinson came up short against West Potomac on Friday and fell 11-7. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Rams, who until this game were averaging 4.08 runs allowed.
Robinson got a big performance out of Stella Gilbert, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Emily Cohn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
West Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Robinson, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. West Springfield hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Robinson struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
West Springfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Robinson when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
