In what's become a running theme this season, the Cole Cougars gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They blew past Nixon-Smiley 66-32 at home. The win was familiar territory for Cole who now have ten in a row.
Cole's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kamyra Childs, who scored 20 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Childs has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Abigail Levings, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Nixon-Smiley struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cole has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-25.
Cole will head out on the road to face off against the Ro-Hawks at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Randolph is on a six-game streak of home wins, the Cougars a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Nixon-Smiley will take on the Griffins at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Great Hearts Northern Oaks has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
