The Creek Valley Storm lost against the South Platte Blue Knights back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Creek Valley took a 47-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of South Platte. Creek Valley has struggled against South Platte recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Storm players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lane Brenneman, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 47.5% of Creek Valley's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mason Timm was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Creek Valley struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Dashle Richards was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds for South Platte. Richards hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Quinten Koenen, who scored 11 points.
Creek Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for South Platte, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creek Valley will take on Wallace at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Creek Valley is facing Wallace at the right time seeing as Wallace is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for South Platte, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hitchcock County at 6:00 p.m. South Platte is facing Hitchcock County at the right time seeing as Hitchcock County is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
