The Merrill Vandals's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-15 margin over Coleman. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Merrill just coasted through the last quarter.
Coleman's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Nevaeh Chaffee, who scored five points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Nora Brownlee who scored no points. Chaffee hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.
The victory got Merrill back to even at 8-8. As for Coleman, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Merrill will take on the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Coleman, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m.
