South Sevier has gone a perfect 5-0 against Monticello recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Rams will head out to face off against the Buckaroo at 3:30 p.m. South Sevier is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Gus Ingram made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Sevier is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-10 otherwise. Ingram was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Houston Blake was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of South Sevier's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jax Christiansen, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Monticello, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against North Sevier on Friday, sneaking past 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Like South Sevier, Monticello also got a great game from a two-way player: Triston Felix. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits. Felix has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cache Young, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Monticello was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
South Sevier's record is now 9-10. As for Monticello, their record now sits at 9-7.
South Sevier got the 'W' when the teams last played back in May of 2024 against Monticello by a conclusive 22-2 score. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Buckaroo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
