Petersburg is a perfect 7-0 against Philip Barbour since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Vikings will host the Colts at 6:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Petersburg took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against East Hardy as they made off with a 10-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Petersburg got a great performance from Olivia Kimble as she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Kimble has posted since April 3rd.
On the hitting side, Ella Chew was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Miley Tingler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Petersburg hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Hardy struck out six times.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Philip Barbour ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Lincoln 13-12. Surprisingly, this marked the Colts' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Avery McDaniel was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing eight innings while giving up five earned (and seven unearned) runs off 11 hits. McDaniel was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Wilmoth, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Holbert, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Philip Barbour's win bumped their record up to 8-10-1. As for Petersburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Petersburg hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Philip Barbour struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Petersburg came out on top in a nail-biter against Philip Barbour in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 10-8. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
