Union County is 9-1 against Tri since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Titans at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Tri will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Union County extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Patriots put the hurt on Monroe Central with a sharp 12-2 win.

Union County let Harly Pilgrim and Addisyn Schneider run wild. Pilgrim went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base, while Schneider went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Pilgrim has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mackinzey Carter, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Union County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tri never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Winchester Community 10-0. Considering the Titans have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Macey Ballard made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Keirra Mettert was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Lyla Williams was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
Union County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Tri, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Union County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Tri struggles in that department as they've averaged .373. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Union County skirted past Tri 11-10 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
