Hallsville is 9-1 against North Callaway since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Hallsville Indians are on the road again and play against the North Callaway Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. Hallsville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully North Callaway likes a good challenge.
Hallsville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 26 points or more this season. They blew past Northeast 64-28 on the road. Given Hallsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Northeast is ranked 426th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, North Callaway lost to Montgomery County at home by a decisive 69-51 margin on Tuesday.
Despite their loss, North Callaway saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Isiah Craighead, who scored 12 points along with four steals, was perhaps the best of all. The match was Craighead's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Pezold, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Hallsville's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for North Callaway, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Hallsville against North Callaway when the teams last played on December 5th as the team secured a 72-32 win. Does Hallsville have another victory up their sleeve, or will North Callaway turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
