After two games on the road, Wheatland-Grinnell is heading back home. They will take on the Quinter Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Wheatland-Grinnell didn't have too much trouble with the Cougars on the road as they won 55-40.
Wheatland-Grinnell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aliviah Ball, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ball has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Karoline Schroeder, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.
In what's become a running theme this season, Quinter gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They breezed by St. Francis at home to the tune of 55-22. Given Quinter's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Indians are ranked 332nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wheatland-Grinnell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Quinter, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.
